“A really big part of our construction economy is the capital budget here in Wisconsin,” Cullen says. “The governor’s budget was proposed and it had a very healthy building program, but the legislature pretty much said no to all of it. They’re in their typical negotiations, but that’s something we’re watching really closely as to what the outcome of that is. If it’s like what it was two years ago, it’ll provide a lot of really good work opportunities. Municipalities and counties feel pretty confident going forward on jobs because of the injection of capital to the state government in 2020.”
