RSP Architects has hired Michael Krager as an associate principal and director of professional development. In this new role, Krager will focus on client work as well as heightening project delivery and professional development for the growing practice. He joins RSP with more than 30 years of experience, most recently at SmithGroup’s Phoenix office, where he served as director of architecture. He will be based in RSP’s Phoenix office.
Nicole Dalton Williams has joined JCJ Architecture’s Las Vegas office as interiors project director. Dalton Williams will collaborate with the hospitality and gaming design team to enhance JCJ’s collective interior design practice in the Las Vegas market and beyond. She brings more than 20 years of experience in global hospitality and entertainment interiors, with expertise in the curation of design solutions for gaming enterprises. Dalton Williams was previously a partner and principal at Dalton, Steelman, Arias and Anderson.
Alex Charland has been promoted to operations manager for Sundt Construction Inc.’s industrial group, based in Phoenix. In his new position, Charland will be responsible for field and business operations for the group’s mining, power and process sectors. He joined Sundt in 2007 as a field engineer for a water treatment project and has steadily advanced through several positions, including project manager, senior project manager and project director.
Adolfson and Peterson Construction’s Southwest region recently welcomed project/field engineer Caleb Frost and superintendent Jason Sirico to its office in Tempe, Ariz.
P.B. Bell recently hired Clarissa Williams as a new portfolio director to oversee several of its communities throughout the Phoenix valley. In her new role, Williams is responsible for managing communities and their operations as well as each community’s specific goals including financials, marketing and staff and resident well-being. Williams got her start in the multifamily industry at P.B. Bell as a leasing consultant in 2008. Most recently, Williams managed a portfolio as a regional manager with Roscoe Property Management.
Antonya Williams has been promoted to executive vice president at McCarthy Building Cos.’s Phoenix office. She was also appointed to serve on the firm’s executive leadership team. Williams will continue to lead the Southwest region’s marketing and business development teams in Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico as well as national markets, including water and renewable energy. She was a member of the 2017 class of ENR’s National Top 20 under 40.
Also in McCarthy’s Phoenix office, Brett Foster has been promoted to preconstruction director. Foster has served as a member of McCarthy’s preconstruction team for the last seven years. His recent work includes several large self-performed concrete projects such as Allegiant Stadium and Circa Hotel, both in Las Vegas, as well as the Kansas-based Tomahawk Wastewater Treatment Plant.
After more than a decade of leading the American Institute of Architects, EVP/CEO Robert Ivy has announced he will retire at the end of 2021. Appointed in 2011, Ivy has overseen major changes within the organization, including digital transformation across all its platforms and growth that resulted in 95,500 members in more than 200 chapters in the U.S. and around the world—the highest AIA membership level since the association’s founding more than 160 years ago.
