PENTA Building Group is performing demolition work on a phased retail parking garage at Boca Park Fashion Village in Las Vegas. 

“This demo was unique in the fact that we had to dismantle the parking garage strategically and with precision so that we could save certain structural aspects to be used to support the new garage,” Hiner says. “I was looking to show how we in the construction industry can use heavy equipment to dismantle structures with surgical precision. We don’t always have the luxury to bulldoze or implode.

“What I like in the shot is that you can feel the motion in such a large piece of machinery. It is being used as an extension of the operator’s arm to gently take apart the structure piece by piece,” Hiner says. “Sometimes we have to gracefully dismantle to build back in a new, safer manner.”
