Graycor Construction Co. has expanded its Southwest division office in Phoenix and promoted several employees.
Tim Hanifin, who in October was promoted to president of Graycor, will provide executive oversight and leadership for the Southwest division. Hanifin started his career with Graycor as an intern in 1995.
Former project executive Rusty Martin has been promoted to operations manager. Martin has 25 years of industry experience. He joined Graycor in 2017.
Former senior project manager Geovanni Villalta has been promoted to construction manager. Villalta has more than 20 years of industry experience and joined Graycor in 2011.
Adolfson & Peterson Construction has hired Robert Cortazzo as Southwest division president, based in Tempe, Ariz. Before coming to AP, Cortazzo worked in various sales and operations leadership roles at various companies like Tutor Perini Building Corp., Martin Harris Construction, Skanska and Turner Construction.
AP also named Michael Smith as project executive for its Southwest division. Smith has more than 20 years of project management experience in commercial construction. Before joining AP, he served as a senior manager and senior project manager with JLL.
Sundt Construction promoted Alex Charland to vice president and regional manager in its industrial group. Charland will manage advanced technology and semiconductor manufacturing projects for Sundt and other industrial projects in the Western U.S.
Sundt also hired Dan Bowerman and Don Pavoggi as preconstruction project managers and Anthony DeVito and Shane Eberspacher as senior estimators in its transportation group.
SmithGroup has announced a series of promotions out of the firm’s Phoenix office.
Adam Denmark has been elevated to vice president, serving as the firm’s science and technology practice strategist and director of laboratory planning.
Promoted to principal were Erica Fisher, Chris Knorr, Casey Potash and Jon Silhol.
Michelle Acosta has been promoted to project management discipline lead, and Katie Stachler has been promoted to architectural discipline lead.
Timothy Donhauser has rejoined P.B. Bell, Scottsdale, Ariz., as a preconstruction director. After working as a development project manager at P.B. Bell for almost four years, he went on to work at Hardison/Downey Construction and Bethel Development/Qualcon Builders before returning to P.B. Bell.
Paul Pena was promoted to general manager for Lloyd Construction Co., Tucson. Pena joined the company 12 years ago as an estimator, serving in increasingly prominent roles, including lead preconstruction and estimating and as a project executive.
Richard Hewitt has been promoted to district manager for PCL’s civil infrastructure division in Phoenix. Hewitt joined PCL in 2000 as a project engineer in San Diego and has more than 25 years of experience in water infrastructure construction.
Mauricio Ramos has been promoted from area manager to operations manager for PCL’s U.S. civil infrastructure division and recently relocated from Tampa to Phoenix. Ramos began his PCL career in 2003 as a field engineer and most recently served as area manager for civil infrastructure in Tampa.
