Jason Wright has been promoted to operations vice president in Messer Construction’s Lexington, Ky., office. Messer has also promoted Brian Borcherding to the same position in the Cincinnati office. Wright has had a 20-year career with Messer, and Borcherding has been with the contractor for 24 years.
“It’s exciting to take this next step in my career with Messer, and to continue to oversee multiple projects while mentoring and developing our people,” Borcherding says.
Travis Pfeiffer has joined HNTB as roadway department manager in the firm’s St. Louis office, helping deliver large-scale infrastructure projects across Missouri and Illinois. Over the past 17 years, Pfeiffer has helped successfully lead highway and bridge projects in coordination with both the Missouri and Illinois Depts. of Transportation, including design roles on five design-build projects in Missouri. His expertise covers various aspects of planning, design and construction of road and highway facilities.
Paul Skinner has been promoted to chief financial officer of CRB, based in Kansas City, Mo. A 23-year CRB veteran, Skinner replaces longtime CFO Tim Henquinet, who plans to retire this year. Henquinet joined CRB in 2013 to head the company’s business management unit and was named CRB’s first CFO in 2017.
“Tim has been a tremendous asset for CRB as we continued our growth during his distinguished service to the company,” said Jeff Biskup, CRB’s chief executive officer and board chairman. “Our leadership team depended on his impressive insights into risk, fiscal responsibility and numerous other areas of finance and business performance. His leadership helped CRB achieve significant growth and will ensure a seamless transition as Paul assumes the CFO duties.”

Mario Azar has been appointed president of the energy and process industries global market sector, a new business sector that integrates Black & Veatch’s energy and industrial-oriented business portfolio to serve power, oil and gas, mining and other process industry clients. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Azar joined the company in 2018 as president of its global power business.
Dave Hallowell has been promoted to president of connectivity and commercial, a new business sector focused on the telecommunications and broadband markets, advanced transportation and sustainable data center development.
Mike Orth has been promoted to president of the government services sector.
Laszlo von Lazar has been promoted to president of operations.
Alissa Schuessler has been promoted to chief financial officer of Kansas City, Mo.-based Burns & McDonnell. Former CFO Denny Scott retired at the end of 2021. Schuessler joined the firm in 2005 as a staff accountant, then rose through the ranks to her most recent role as vice president of the firm’s finance group.
