Louis J. Hernandez has been named chief financial officer at Bohannan Huston, Albuquerque. He takes over for Kerry Davis, who has served in this position since 2002. Hernandez has been with BHI for 25 years and previously served as managing principal for BHI’s advanced technologies division. In his new role, Hernandez oversees all administrative groups and the accounting functions of BHI, including the firm’s project accounting and financial reporting systems.
Michael Flores has been promoted to chief operations officer of the residential business at Restoration Builders Inc., Scottsdale, Ariz. Flores brings more than two decades of sales management, business development and entrepreneurial experience to his new position. He also founded a roofing restoration business in the greater Chicago area. Flores joined Restoration Builders in 2019 and most recently served as the firm’s central regional director.
Sundt Construction has made several promotions and new hires in its Phoenix office. Cade Rowley has been promoted to president of Sundt’s industrial group – West, responsible for all business development, preconstruction and operations for industrial construction work throughout the Western U.S. as well as water and wastewater projects across the country. Kristen Bejarano was promoted to project director. She will work primarily on the company’s data-center market. Courtney Meyers has been hired as a business development representative for Sundt’s industrial group, and the firm has hired Emilie Bell as assistant general counsel within the legal department. Sarah Owen has been promoted to business development manager, Josh Anderson to project executive and Nicolas Chavez to senior virtual construction engineer. Curtis Smith and Justin Gillies were both promoted to project manager. Chris Elison and Janene Thomas were both promoted to senior project manager, Zack Hoover to project manager, Greg Gottron to project superintendent, Daniel Kalfayan to field superintendent and Jose Gamez to project engineer in Sundt’s transportation group. In Sundt’s Tucson office, Keegan Abele was promoted to assistant project manager.
Robert Cortazzo has been hired at Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), Tempe, Ariz., as Southwest division president. Before coming to AP, Cortazzo served in various roles at Tutor Perini Building Corp., Martin-Harris Construction, Skanska and Turner Construction.
AP also announced that Vince Castillo has been promoted to senior project manager to oversee and operate multiple projects. Zachary Byard has been promoted to senior superintendent. Byard has been with AP for 11 years. Steve Reamer has been promoted to assistant project manager. Reamer previously served as a project engineer and has three decades of industry experience.
Corbins, Phoenix, has welcomed Greg Ayres as the firm’s new president. Ayres has more than 26 years of experience working in the construction industry throughout the Western U.S., most recently leading the industrial group - West for Sundt Construction. Ayres’ focus will be expanding Corbins’ construction management and self-performed work offerings across the U.S.
Haydon Building Corp., Phoenix, has hired Justin Newman as executive director, building division. Newman brings more than 23 years of experience to his new role.
