“San Antonio continues to be one of the fastest-growing metros in the country,” Haywood says. “[The city] provides tremendous opportunities for our industry to design and build the infrastructure to support the increased development.” 

Among the numerous major projects that are currently underway in the greater San Antonio area is the Texas Dept. of Transportation’s I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX). This project will provide safety and mobility improvements to I-35 and support the growth happening along the San Antonio-Austin Corridor, Haywood says.

Meanwhile, “San Antonio International Airport is seeing an increase in passengers and planning for additional development, including a new terminal,” he says.
On the transit side, VIA Metropolitan Transit continues to advance the Keep SA Moving plan to provide access to jobs and equitable access to transportation.
“It’s a very exciting time to be in the A/E industry in San Antonio,” Haywood adds.
