Adolfson & Peterson Construction completed construction in April on the state-of-the-art Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital facility in Phoenix. The 51,000-sq-ft hospital features 48 private inpatient suites, two advanced therapy rooms, a large visitation room, on-site café, multiple apartments designed for working on daily living tasks and an outdoor therapy and relaxation space. People with complex medical, neurological and orthopedic conditions and debilitating illnesses and injuries such as strokes and brain trauma can now receive comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation therapies.

The facility was developed by ADI and designed by Callaway Architecture, with 2GR Equity acting as an anchor investor.


Alcorn Construction Expands to Arizona

Colorado-based general contractor Alcorn Construction recently announced the opening of a new office in Tempe, Ariz. Alcorn was founded in 2008 by Amy and Chris Alcorn and has since expanded into the commercial, office, light industrial, retail, multifamily and senior-living sectors.

Jim Roland will serve as the Arizona office’s senior vice president.


Grand Canyon University, Rosendin Create Pathway For Electrical Training

Grand Canyon University will partner with Rosendin and Maricopa County on a new pre-apprenticeship pathway that will provide technical education to prepare students for a career as a skilled electrician. Starting in September, GCU’s program will provide real-world industry training by combining college-level classes with hands-on learning.

Pre-apprenticeship students will take four courses over one semester in areas like math, communications and electrical foundations on GCU’s Phoenix campus, then enter into an apprenticeship. Rosendin also will give students additional opportunities for paid, supervised work at Phoenix-area construction sites for continued learning.


UnCommons Begins Phase 2 Work

The second commercial phase of UnCommons, Matter Real Estate Group’s much-anticipated $400-million, 40-acre mixed-use community coming to southwest Las Vegas, is now under construction. A notable addition coming with Phase 2 will be The Assembly, an innovative 5,000-sq-ft conference center.

Phase 2 of UnCommons also will add two four-story office buildings totaling 180,000 sq ft and an additional parking structure with 750 parking stalls. Construction is expected to be complete by summer 2023.
