Forestar is planning to develop Moonlight Ridge, a mixed-use community on a 489-acre site at the intersection of W. Smith Enke Road and N. Green Road in Pinal County. LOUISIANA
Fidelis New Energy is planning to construct Cyclus, a 200-MW biomass-fueled electric and steam plant, in West Baton Rouge. It will provide power to the company’s Gron Fuels facility. MARYLAND
Prince George’s County Public Schools is planning to make over High Point High School in Beltsville. The revised conceptual design option will reuse 290,000 sq ft of the existing building and add 130,000 sq ft for a three-story classroom, new main gymnasium and a connector from the new main gymnasium to the existing auxiliary gymnasium. The project also includes demolishing 30,000 sq ft of the existing building. Construction is expected to start in 2027. The project is valued at $196.7 million. TENNESSEE
India Cultural Center and Temple is planning to expand the India Cultural Center in Eads. The expansion will include five buildings, totaling more than 1.7 million sq ft. A 90,000-sq-ft Yagnasala temple will be the main building for worship and ceremonies. The SriChakra Pyramid, a 13-story, 173,056-sq-ft pyramid, will house an observatory deck on the 10th floor, along with a glass elevator to the remaining top floors. Another structure will be a 108-ft-tall St. Annamacharya statue. A two-building cultural center on the eastern side of the campus will feature a 200-seat auditorium and event center, including a yoga studio, commercial kitchen, educational classrooms and administrative offices. There will also be a 3-acre Victorian-style glass greenhouse, a parking garage and several cottages for visitors. The project is valued at $100 million. WISCONSIN
Racine County plans to build a 70,000-sq-ft secure residential care center facility in Caledonia, just south of Three Mile Road at the airport’s northeast corner, on 29 acres. The facility will serve 48 youth awaiting court appearances until sentencing, as well as those sentenced as an alternative to a correctional setting. Construction is expected to begin in the late summer or early fall of 2022, and the building completed by early 2025. The project is valued at $42.5 million. WD Construction LLC has started building Haven at Congaree Point, a senior housing development in Columbia. The four-story, 180,000-sq-ft building will contain 196 apartments, a courtyard and grilling area, a fitness center, theater room, a salon and a community room with a kitchen. It has been designed by Martin Riley Associates Architects. The project owner is Dominium Development & Acquisition Inc. Construction is expected to be completed by July 2023. 8/31 The Illinois Capital Development Board is seeking bidders to carry out Phase 2 of the Altgeld Hall exterior renovations on the University of Illinois campus in Urbana. The project entails roof replacement, stone cleaning and repair, disassembly and reassembly of a portion of the chimes tower, removal and salvage of existing clay tile roof shingles, and repairing sandstone with Dutchman and plastic patch methods.
