Construction continues on Skye on 6th, a 26-story residential tower in Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row Arts District. Clayco is leading the work for owner Hubbard Street Group as design-build contractor, with Shepley Bulfinch as the designer. The 357,850-sq-ft building’s exterior cladding comprises floor to floor window wall and fly by EIFS panels. Skye on 6th was designed to LEED Silver certification, and completion is set for summer 2023.

In July, McFarland was on site to capture the curtain wall installation and overall progress. The shot showcases the city and mountain background of Phoenix and the west side of the building undergoing curtain wall installation, he says.

“I was shooting from the rooftop of the building to the southwest, about a quarter mile away with a Sony Alpha 1, 50.1MP with a 35mm 1.4 lens,” he says. “What I like about this image is the light, showing the scale of the building, the iconic Camelback Mountain in the background and the branding of Clayco on the crane.”
