FLORIDA

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority is planning to expand the terminal at Jacksonville International Airport. The project entails adding six gates, expanding the apron and adding a third level for additional concessions/lounge space as well as administrative and operational areas. Reynolds, Smith and Hills Inc. has been chosen as the architect, and Balfour Beatty/Aviation Constructors has been selected as construction manager at-risk. Construction is expected to start in October 2022 and be completed by July 2025. The project is valued at $300 million. FLORIDA

Melo Contractors Corp., a subsidiary of developer Melo Group, has started building Aria Reserve, twin 60-story condominium towers at 700 NE 24th St. in Miami. Located on a 3.86-acre lot, the towers will contain 782 units, a nine-story parking garage, a club/lounge and 12,600 sq ft of retail space. Amenities include a pool, theater, tennis and basketball courts, a spa and gym. It has been designed by Arquitectonica International Corp. The project is valued at $700 million. GEORGIA

The Georgia Dept. of Transportation is currently evaluating submitted bids from design-build teams seeking to construct State Route 400 Express Lanes in Forsyth and Fulton counties. The winning team will design, construct, finance, operate, maintain and toll approximately 16 miles of two new express lanes on SR 400 in each direction from the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority North Springs Station to McGinnis Ferry Road as well as one new express lane on SR 400 in each direction from McGinnis Ferry Road to north of McFarland Parkway. Construction is expected to start in September 2022. The project is valued at $1.3 billion. NORTH CAROLINA

DPR Construction Inc. is currently evaluating submitted subcontractor bids for the Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center Bed Tower in Charlotte. The 12-story, 1,164,126-sq-ft building will contain 320 beds. It has been designed by NBBJ. Construction is expected to begin in December 2022 and be completed by August 2026. TENNESSEE

The Robins and Morton Group has started constructing a 15-story tower, the Link Building, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. It will contain 180 new patient rooms, 10 operating rooms and specialty clinics. It has been designed by Blair + Mui Dowd Architects PC. Construction is expected to be completed by July 2026. TENNESSEE

Walbridge is currently evaluating submitted subcontractor bids for the Blue Oval Automotive Manufacturing Campus in Stanton. The 3,600-acre campus, called Blue Oval City, will include a Ford plant to produce F-series all-electric trucks, an SK Innovation battery manufacturing and recycling plant, a supplier park, a new campus of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology, a solar farm, a performance center and visitor center.
