One of the largest projects in the region, the new Buffalo Bills stadium, which is set to break ground this year, will put “plenty of eyes” on the Queen City, says Ciminelli. “The size alone makes this project quite demanding. The stadium has the potential to impact both labor and commodity supply chain trends in western New York.” Despite serving on the stadium’s CM team, Ciminelli says his firm “will still have to plan around potential conflicts on our other projects.”
Ciminelli also notes his firm’s work on two other projects with “transformational impact” for the region, including its role as CM for the $46-million Niagara Falls Visitor Center and as owner’s rep for the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. The latter will reopen this spring upon completion of its AK360 project—a large-scale restoration and expansion initiative.
Buffalo has also seen increased work in the institutional sector, including outpatient health care centers and life sciences developments. “Industrial and warehouse-related projects, which have been common over the years, are still seeing strong demand,” Ciminelli says.
