Clayco topped out the PALMtower Residences at the Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix this month. Developed by North American Development Group and designed by Will Bruder Architects in collaboration with Lamar Johnson Collaborative, the 28-story structure is scheduled for completion in early 2024. The building will contain 352 apartment units and a 17,500-sq-ft seventh floor amenity level with an outdoor pool and indoor-outdoor common space. The 481,980-sq-ft building’s exterior cladding will be comprised of glass and metal paneling. “It is cathartic to see such a significant milestone celebrated on this project,” Eric Jaegers, an executive at Clayco, said in a statement.

Adolfson & Peterson Construction recently held a topping out ceremony for the Agave Ridge Behavioral Hospital for Acadia Healthcare in Mesa, Ariz.

Slated to open in early 2024, the 100-bed acute care behavioral health hospital will help address the shortage of beds for behavioral health patients in Mesa. Maricopa County is more than 800 behavioral health beds shy of the 2,331 it needs to meet its behavioral health care needs, according to officials. Dr. Jeffrey Woods, operations group president of Acadia Healthcare, said in a statement that the facility “will be state of the art and provide the hope and healing that residents of Mesa and the surrounding communities need when dealing with complex behavioral health issues.” He added, “We will become a strong member of the community, partnering with all organizations, hospitals and first responders.”
