TWG Development is planning to build a mixed-use tower in connection with the redevelopment of Old City Hall in Indianapolis. The 32-story mixed-use tower will contain 190 rental apartments, 24 condominiums, a 150-room boutique hotel and 8,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space. The adjacent four-story Old City Hall at 202 Alabama St. will be restored in part as an art gallery for the hotel and the remainder of the space will be used for community and office space. Old City Hall, a Classical Revival-style building erected in 1910, housed the City Hall until 1962, and later the Indiana State Museum until 2001. The project is being designed by Smallwood. MONTANA
Timberwolf Ridge LLC is planning to build Timberwolf Ridge, a multifamily development, in Kalispell. The development will include six four-story buildings containing 400 apartments, with surface parking beneath each building. The project is valued at between $25 million and $50 million. UTAH
KBS Capital Markets Group is planning to build Hardware Village II in Salt Lake City. The eight-story, 599,443-sq-ft building will contain 344 apartments and a four-level parking garage with 784 spaces. Amenities will include a pool, fitness room, indoor and outdoor courtyards and a rooftop lounge. It is being designed by Dwell Design Studio. Construction is expected to begin in mid- or late 2024. VERMONT
Highlands Development Co. and Rivers Edge Building Development LLC are planning to develop the Dorset Street residential development and golf course in South Burlington. VIRGINIA
The Virginia Passenger Rail Authority is planning to carry out the Franconia-Springfield Bypass Project. It entails building a rail bridge just south of the Franconia-Springfield station that will allow passenger trains to cross over to serve stations on the west side of the rail corridor and will reduce congestion for freight and passenger trains on the remaining two rail tracks. Project construction includes a single track on the bypass bridge with accommodations for a future second track. The project will allow all trains to move more safely through the rail corridor, increase the capacity for passenger service and improve the reliability of both passenger and freight service. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is currently evaluating responses submitted by design-build teams seeking to design and construct two 225-ft-wide floodgates on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in Houma (GIWW West Floodgate) and Larose, La., (GIWW East Floodgate) as part of the Morganza-to-the-Gulf Hurricane Protection System. GIWW West is located west of the center of Houma and approximately five miles downstream from the intersection of the GIWW and the Houma Navigation Canal. GIWW East is located approximately 1.5 miles north of the intersection of the GIWW and Bayou Lafourche. The project is valued at between $250 million and $500 million.
