CALIFORNIA

The Related Cos. of California is planning to develop Related Bristol, a mixed-use community in Santa Ana on a 42-acre site currently occupied by the Metro Town Square shopping center. Related Bristol will include up to 3,750 residential units, up to 350,000 sq ft of commercial space, 250 hotel rooms, 200 senior care units, 6,520 parking spaces, and 13.1 acres of open space. Construction will take place in three phases, from 2026 through 2036. The project is valued at between $650 million and $700 million. MASSACHUSETTS

The Cambridge Housing Authority is planning to carry out the Jefferson Park federal housing modernization project. The project entails completely rebuilding the development’s 175 units, of which 57 have been offline, and adding 103 new units, as well as redesigning the site layout to better integrate the housing into the surrounding neighborhood. When completed, the six four-story buildings will total 280,000 sq ft. Baker Wohl Architects has been chosen as the designer, and Consigli Contruction Co. as the construction manager-at-risk. MINNESOTA

The Minnesota Dept. of Transportation, in coordination with the City of Burnsville and Dakota County, will resurface Interstate 35W between Cliff Road and the Burnsville Split. Construction is expected to start in April 2025 and be completed by September 2026. The project is valued at $80 million. SOUTH CAROLINA

Warhaft Group, Avison Young, Cone Mills Acquisition Group and 13th Floor Investments are planning to develop the Union Bleachery mixed-use project in Greenville. The Union Bleachery and its corporate successors did bleaching, dyeing and finishing of textiles from 1902 until the complex was destroyed by fire in 2003. The brownfield site’s chromium contamination is now limited to a small area and a remediation plan is underway. The 240-acre site is bisected by the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail, a rail trail. The new master-planned development, called On the Trail, will encompass up to 20 million sq ft of multifamily residences (garden homes, townhomes, lofts and mid-rises) with retail, office, hospitality and educational uses. Phase 1 will entail 600 units of housing on four acres along State Highway 253 and the Swamp Rabbit Trail and a historical structure that will be adaptively reused to become a distillery. KENTUCKY

Ulliman Schutte Construction LLC has started carrying out the Paddy’s Run Flood Pump Station capacity upgrade project in Louisville. The project involves constructing a new facility with an estimated total pumping capacity of up to 1,900 million gal per day. It entails installing new flood pumps, motors, trash racks and discharge pipes. Construction is expected to be completed by December 2026. The project is valued at $230 million. MISSISSIPPI

The U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center has awarded a $30.3-million firm-fixed-price contract to Southern Contracting LLC to renovate Bryan Hall on Keesler Air Force Base. The project entails repairs to the roof, elevators, HVAC, plumbing, fire alarms and suppression system, bathroom facilities and interior finishes, as well as replacement of communication wiring and electrical systems. 10/25 Gerald R. Ford International Airport Board is seeking bidders to construct a snow equipment storage facility. The project entails demolishing the fuel farm on the northeast side of the site, including canopy, fuel equipment and existing fuel tanks; and removing the existing pavement, electrical cables, drainage, concrete aprons, bollards and door loops. It also involves installing a new drainage system throughout the site; foundations for a 61,615-sq-ft pre-engineered metal building; snow guards and a fall protection system; underground utility improvements including electrical, communication, drainage and water; a pre-engineered metal building and the expansion of an existing field maintenance building.
