Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson’s board has named Michael J. Blair to succeed John A. Moeller as JMT’s next president at its Hunt Valley, Md., corporate office. Blair launched his career at the employee-owned multidiscipline engineering/architectural firm as a structural design engineer in 1994. He has been JMT’s executive vice president for 29 years. He currently serves as regional manager and Hunt Valley office leader.
Ross Clingan joined A. Morton Thomas and Associates Inc. (AMT) in the Frederick, Md., office as senior construction services manager and associate. Clingan recently retired as the area engineer for Maryland Dept. of Transportation State Highway Administration District 7. He worked in construction management with MDOT for more than 30 years on highway, bridge, environmental and other projects, including the Hampstead Community Safety & Enhancement project and Phase 1 of the MD Route 85 at Interstate-270 Interchange Reconstruction. In addition, AMT’s John S. Claytor was appointed on Aug. 22 by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) to the board of the Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects. Claytor has more than 40 years of experience in land surveying and geomatics on transportation, civil infrastructure and other public works improvements projects involving transportation. Aaron Briggs joined AMT as senior associate and director of water and wastewater in Baltimore. Briggs will lead the growth of AMT’s water and wastewater practice within the MidAtlantic region. Previously, he was MidAtlantic region water business line leader for Prime AE Group Inc., also in Baltimore, for two years.
Warfel Construction Co. has elevated Colleen Lynn to director of business development, and Gina Bonafede has been hired as director of marketing at the firm’s East Petersburg, Pa., corporate office. Warfell hired Lynn in 2022 as an account executive; Bonafede was hired with 16 years of strategic marketing experience.
Hord Coplan Macht, an integrated architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and planning firm in Baltimore, has promoted research-based designer and project architect Ilijana Soldan to sustainability manager. Soldan has a diverse background in the education, commercial, office, retail, recreation, campus planning, mixed-use, residential and senior living markets. Soldan currently heads the firm’s sustainability action team, which focuses on launching green initiatives.
Gilbane Building Co. has named Rachel Pest as business development manager based in Richmond. She has 14 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction, engineering and manufacturing industries. Previously, Pest was an account executive at Convergint, a systems integrator, and is a three-time national champion equestrian.
HNTB Corp. has named Mike Voinis as Capital Region office leader in Arlington, Va. He will lead more than 250 multidisciplinary professionals serving a broad range of clients on complex infrastructure projects in Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia and West Virginia. He most recently served as vice president and Houston office leader, a position he has held since he joined HNTB in 2016.
