Executive Vice President

“The construction business in Columbus is very strong, and we anticipate the next five to years to continue at a record pace. A number of the large projects in our region have schedules that take them to the end of the decade, and programs are generally funded for that time period,” Rajadhyaksha says. “Even with successes, there are challenges including supply chain delays. There are numerous items that are causing delays on our projects including electrical components—signal and lighting items and waterline materials are examples. The delays in some cases are approaching 12 months and impacting project timelines. These potential delays, coupled with inflation, create uncertainty for our clients. We are taking every opportunity to find creative ways to procure long lead items early and collaborate with suppliers on rapidly changing costs.
“DLZ is playing a role in some of the largest private and public projects in the region. One is the New Terminal Project at John Glenn International Airport. DLZ is supporting the Hensel Phelps|Elford team, the construction manager at-risk, on the $2-billion project,” he says.
