At 500,000 sq ft, this warehouse sits on 29 acres and is designed for maximum efficiency as a loading and unloading destination. In total, the project called for 16,000 cu yd of concrete, 116 overhead doors and 16 dock levelers. Part of the project included extending Salt Lake City’s 150 South roadway in a heavily industrial part of the city.

Spanning 43 ft from floor to ceiling, the warehouse features tilt-up concrete panels ranging between 90,000 lb and 183,000 lb. The team placed 116 panels in total, averaging close to 20 panels a day. All the slabs on grade and tilt-up panels had to be installed during peak winter months. Teamwork was vital, as were ground heaters and 600 concrete blankets. Crews had to coordinate efforts to thaw the soil and then keep snow and moisture off the concrete as well, which required constant monitoring. The project had a strict floor flatness requirement, so the owner brought in inspectors from Texas to monitor floor placements and check the results. Crews achieved a score of 86.72, far surpassing the “very flat” standard designation of 45, per the American Society for Testing and Materials.
