The construction sector in Lake Charles was able to hold steady during 2023. “We’ve noticed a significant number of projects moving into the front-end engineering design phase. It’s a sign that the industry is getting ready for more action on the ground,” says Chaisson.
“With an expected surge in large capital projects, there’s a lot of detailed planning and preparation going on right now, including upgrades to our local infrastructure,” he adds. “These improvements are critical—they’re all about making sure we’re ready for the wave of construction work that’s just around the corner.”
The region is seeing small capital projects and turnaround events continuing, suggesting a positive trajectory for the ongoing maintenance and expansion of active facilities within the area.
“Looking ahead, we anticipate a significant surge in the LNG market starting this year, with expectations of sustained growth through to 2027. We also anticipate the renewable energy sector gaining considerable momentum beginning in 2025,” he says.
