In October, Noel Siller, an environmental health and safety specialist with Odin, snapped a dramatic image of the morning safety meeting on the Sacramento River East Levee project.

Odin is part of the joint venture with Maloney handling the 2.4 miles of levee improvements within the City of Sacramento. Work will address under-seepage and through-seepage concerns.

Siller, who was on site documenting the safety meeting, said she just crouched down and snapped the candid shot with a Canon EOS 80 (W).

“What I appreciate the most about this shot is how it encapsulates the spirit of teamwork and vigilance in ensuring a safe working environment within the construction industry,” she says.

During the meeting, the team discussed the importance of communication between  employees, subcontractors, vendors and visitors during operations. They also introduced a safety analysis pocketbook to communicate daily hazards and to offer strategies to eliminate them.
