Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. has added program manager Gafcon to its stable of design and contracting companies by acquiring the San Diego-based company for an undisclosed price earlier this month.
Gafcon ranked No. 48 on ENR's 2022 Top 50 Program Managers with $26.2 million in domestic revenue in 2021. The staff of 130 has extensive experience working with schools and community colleges on their building programs.
Global Infrastructure Solutions, known as GISI, said in a statement that the Gafcon assets were purchased by a new unit called Gafcon PM-CM. The company chairman, Yehudi "Gag" Gaffen, said in the statement that he founded Gafcon with his wife, Pam, in 1987. Gafcon's current co-CEOs, Robin Duveen and Bryan Benso, will continue with the acquired company.
Gafcon's former digital twin model integrator services unit, Gafcon Digital, was spun off from Gafcon in 2022, and was acquired by Anser Advisory in May 2023.
Founded by Rick Newman, GISI has assembled 25 companies with a total of 14,000 employees. It remains privately owned.
The company's numerous existing operating units include Structure Tone, The LiRo Group and a sustainability services platform called Palladium.
