The U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services is planning to build a new Whiteriver Hospital to replace the existing Whiteriver Indian Hospital on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. The project will include a 395,844-sq-ft building and 1,335 parking spaces. It is being designed by SmithGroup. Construction is expected to start in July 2026 and be completed by July 2029. FLORIDA
The City of Margate is planning to select a developer to create Margate City Center, a mixed-use project on a 51.4-acre site. The site’s maximum building height is eight stories, or 122 ft. The site is entitled to a broad mix of uses: as many as 980 residential units; up to 500 hotel rooms; as much as 309,659 sq ft of industrial space; 861,331 sq ft of office space; and 1.27 million sq ft of retail space. It will also include a new 25,700-sq-ft city hall, a 25,500-sq-ft community center, and a 15,000-sq-ft public library. INDIANA
Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne is planning to remodel the Arts United Center, the city’s arts campus. Designed by Louis Kahn and opened in 1973, the project will make the venue more accessible for people with disabilities. The work will also include new lighting and mechanical systems, expand the footprint to add a loading dock, an expanded scene-creating shop and a two-story wing containing classrooms, offices and a café. Another phase will add a second-story outdoor terrace and a two-story indoor/outdoor event space. It is being designed by MKM Architecture + Design, MKSK Studios and DLR Group. MUUD LLC is planning to build Union at River Point District, a mixed-use project in Norfolk. The five-story, 195,000-sq-ft building will contain 130 apartments and 25,000 sq ft of retail space. Monadnock Construction Inc. is planning to build a mixed-use project at 155 Third St. in the Gowanus neighborhood in Brooklyn. The 22-story, 317,000-sq-ft building will include 301 apartments, 45 parking spaces and commercial space. It is being designed by Dattner Architects. The project is valued at $100 million. Crossland Construction Co. has started building the XNA Connector. This project entails constructing a four-lane interstate-style divided highway nearly 4 miles long between Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) in Highfill and the Springdale Northern Bypass, or Highway 612. It will include 11 bridges, an interchange at the project’s south end and a tie-in to Highway 264. The estimated completion date is late 2027. The project is valued at $127 million. Morel Construction Co. has started building the W.E.B. DuBois Academy, an all-boys school with an Afrocentric curriculum, in the Newburg neighborhood in Louisville. 6/25 The U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs is seeking bidders to carry out Phase 3 of the Tahoma National Cemetery project in Kent. The project entails developing 15 acres into 22,700 gravesites, including 1,600 pre-placed crypt full casket gravesites; 400 over-sized pre-placed crypt full casket gravesites; 200 traditional casket gravesites for private vaults; 6,500 in-ground cremation, garden niche or terrace sites and 18,000 columbarium niches; 300 memorial wall plaque sites; and access roads.
