National Cement Co. of California Inc. is planning to upgrade its cement plant in Lebec to produce limestone calcined clay cement and construct a carbon dioxide capture facility with a pipeline to an offsite sequestration hub. The phased Lebec Net Zero Cement Plant Project scope includes purchase of pipe; grading, trenching, pipe stringing, welding, coating, backfilling; and purchase and installation of conveyors, biomass receiving and pelletizing equipment, CO₂ cooling, compression, separation, metering and pressure-regulating equipment. The facility will have the capacity to capture 950,000 metric tons of CO₂ per year. Construction is expected to be phased through 2027 or 2028. SOUTH DAKOTA

Five Shot RNG LLC is planning to construct a renewable natural gas plant in Lincoln County. The project scope includes construction of 1.5 miles of connector pipeline, anaerobic digester tanks, and equipment foundations; and purchase and installation of process piping, a flare, a thermal oxidizer, and gas separation and purification equipment. The plant will have the capacity to produce 2.5 million MMBtu of RNG per year. Site preparation is expected to begin in the late second or early third quarter of 2024. TENNESSEE

Highland Materials Inc. is planning to construct a polysilicon and aluminum alloy plant on a 100-acre site at the Phipps Bend Industrial Park in Phipps Bend. The project scope includes construction of a 1.2-million-sq-ft building and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of structural steel; and purchase and installation of raw material storage and handling, conveyors, overhead cranes, furnaces, process vessels, chemical storage tanks, heat recovery systems, and cooling, casting and air emissions control equipment.
