MTech Mechanical collaborated with photographer Ely Hemnes of The Unfound Door to illustrate the artistry of construction work. In a series of photos capturing the day-to-day intricacies of large-scale projects in downtown Denver, one commissioned shot stood out. Taken from a vantage point high above, the image features Bryan Gilmore, pipefitting crew leader, welding 14-in. pipe for the 1900 Lawrence Office Building. The pipe carries chilled condenser water from the building’s mechanical room up 32 stories to help keep a large office space comfortably cool. Positioned in a scissor lift above the work with an MTech team member, Hemnes used her Canon R5 to capture the shot. “Before the welding commenced, the MTech team member provided a detailed overview of the process, ensuring we could anticipate and capture the key moments,” she says. “The preparation was crucial in securing a dynamic and authentic image that truly represents the craftsmanship of MTech’s team.”
