TENNESSEE

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning construction of a new river water intake facility and pump house at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport. The purpose of the proposed action is to enable the facility to meet EPA Rule 316(b) requirements while providing adequate capacity for water intake at full RDX/HMX production capacity. 11/06 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to carry out the Ice Harbor Intake Gate hydraulic system upgrade project at the Ice Harbor Lock and Dam on the Snake River in Burbank. The project requires the design, fabrication and installation of 18 intake gate hydraulic cylinders, as well as 18 intake gate support beams. Additionally, the project includes designing, fabricating and installing a new hydraulic power unit for the intake gate system as well as installing six new hydraulic control stations, and adding an automated emergency closure function for the intake gates from the control room.
