MGC Pure Chemicals America Inc. is planning to expand its chemical plant in Mesa. The AZ4 project scope includes construction of building space, a railcar station and equipment foundations; purchase and installation of process vessels, distillation and extraction columns, reactors and air compression, oxidation, separation, filtration, flow control and isotainer filling equipment; and purchase of lifts. Gray has been selected to provide EPC services for the project. Construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024. MGC Pure Chemicals America, a subsidiary of Tokyo, Japan-based Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Co., produces ammonium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide for the semiconductor industry. NEBRASKA

Noah’s Ark Processors LLC, doing business as WR Reserve, is planning to expand its 82,000-sq-ft meat packing plant in Hastings. The project scope includes demolition of a wastewater treatment building; design and construction of a wastewater pretreatment facility, 11,000 sq ft of precast concrete tilt-up buildings for an electrical/engine house, a hot box, harvest floor, air compressor house and a foot cooler addition; and purchase and installation of conveyors, magnetic flow meters, rotary screens, and cutting, eviscerating, processing, chilling, refrigeration and wastewater treatment equipment. Gleeson Constructors & Engineers LLC provided preliminary engineering services and has been selected to provide design-build services for the project. VIRGINIA

Speyside Bourbon Cooperage Inc. is planning to construct a stave mill at the Brosville Industrial Park in Pittsylvania County. The project scope includes construction of a building; and purchase and installation of conveyors and debarking, sawing, edging, planing, milling and dust collection equipment. Dewberry has been selected to provide design services. Construction is expected to begin in mid-2025. Speyside will use the plant to produce white oak staves and barrel heads to supply its bourbon barrel cooperage in Atkins. The estimated EPC cost is $16.9 million.
