Medpace, a clinical research company, has named Skanska USA to manage construction of a 562,000 sq-ft office building and conference center at its active Madison Square campus in Cincinnati.
The nine-story building, with six floors of offices atop the conference center and parking garage, "presents unique challenges due to the need to rearrange the existing campus footprint," says Chris Hopper, executive vice president/general manager for Skanska USA.
For example, an existing Clinical Pharmacology Unit building is moving to a new location to make way for the new building. "We are working on a very active campus," says Hopper.
The roughly 30-acre Madison Square campus, east of downtown, contains five office and retail buildings, a hotel, food hall, brewery and other amenities. The new office building will be occupied by about 1,500 Medpace workers.
“This area not only serves community members but also Medpace employees,” Hopper says. “Therefore, it is crucial to keep the offices and location operational throughout construction to ensure minimal disruption to their daily activities."
Sitework began in February and the project is slated for completion in March 2027.
