Faced with a tight schedule, Clune Construction delivered a state-of-the-art headquarters for Barstool Sports. The 39,000-sq-ft project in Chicago’s West Loop transformed a warehouse into a dynamic hub for content creation housing 13 STC-designed broadcast and podcast studios.

During the removal of columns supporting the mezzanine, corroded underground piping was discovered.

To address this, the piping was relined and large structural steel beams were installed. Clune also coped with long lead times, especially for specialty items like the flooring for a basketball court that required significant preparation considering the required tolerance of 1/8th of an inch per 10 ft.

Varnishing was done on site, necessitating a two-week drying period when all work above the basketball floor had to be completed out of sequence and two weeks ahead of other areas to accommodate the dry time.
