“The buzz for the past two years has been the significant investment from major corporations moving into Ohio,” says Dye.
“Central Ohio has robust capacity in utilities, which also helps to make utility rates very favorable,” she says. “We are definitely seeing an increase in manufacturing/industrial facilities with both new companies looking to expand or build in Central Ohio or expanding their operations here.
“Health care projects seem to be getting back on track after spending some time in holding patterns. Electrification and decarbonization are becoming a bigger topic. We are seeing more organizations agreeing to discuss decarbonization and are starting to look at how to move these efforts forward,” she adds.
“Prices and lead times are starting to level off. While there are still significant lead times, owners and construction managers have adapted to accommodate earlier equipment procurement packages. The AEC industry as a whole faces labor shortages. We continually look to hire college graduates to help increase our innovative processes while integrating them into IMEG,” Dye says.
