Located in the Harwood Historic District, the new 3.84-acre park was previously a collection of surface parking lots, vacant buildings and a dilapidated roadway.

Features include a children’s playscape with two Columbian mammoth play structures, interactive fountain, basketball and pickleball courts, dog parks, shade trellises, event lawns and seating areas.

A gold ring events stage welcomes visitors at one side of the park. The project also included the renovation of three buildings in the historical district.

Being located in one of the oldest parts of Dallas meant there were multiple utilities, abandoned structures and other unforeseen conditions that the team had to address.

Constant communication between the contractor and design team was critical to solving problems expediently.
