CordenPharma is planning to expand active pharmaceutical ingredients production capacity and construct a peptide synthesis plant at its campus in Boulder. Scope includes construction of a 40,000-60,000-sq-ft building, as well as the purchase and installation of stainless steel piping, reactors, freezers, fume hoods and wet laboratory, testing, air handling, sterilization, formulation, purification, isolation, filling and packaging equipment and systems. HAWAII
Simonpietri Enterprises is planning to construct a waste-to-energy plant on a 4.9-acre site in Kapolei. The Aloha Sustainable Materials Recycling and Fertilizer Facility (SMRFF) project scope includes demolition and removal of structures; construction of a steam power generation plant, battery energy storage system and equipment foundations; installation of a fluidized-bed gasification and syngas conversion system; and purchase and installation of photovoltaic solar panels, blowers, thermal oxidizer, cooling tower, boiler and sorting, shredding, crushing, screening, separating, drying, ash-handling and wastewater-treatment equipment. Wood Group PLC and KP Engineering are providing engineering services and EQTEC will provide its syngas conversion technology. The SMRFF will have capacity to process 399 metric tons of construction, plant, unprocessed poultry manure and biodiesel processing waste to produce 3,000 lbs per day of potash fertilizer and biochar, and generate 2 MW of electric power. Crysalis Biosciences Inc. plans to establish a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant at the site of the shuttered Metro East ethanol plant in Sauget, which it recently restarted. Project scope includes reconfiguration of building space; and purchase and installation of deoxygenation and isomerization reactors, and product separation, ethanol dehydration, oligomerization, wastewater treatment and flow-control equipment. The plant will have the capacity to produce 5,000 to 10,000 barrels of low-carbon intensity SAF and SAF feedstock per day. A schedule is being developed.
