The construction industry in Omaha continues to be quite strong, with several large projects that capture the growth of the local scene, says Haberman. Project NExT is a significant investment in health care training taken on by the Nebraska Medicine health network and the University of Nebraska Medicine. It is  a publicly funded $2-billion project that will generate a significant influx of commerce to the city’s midtown.

A major expansion and renovation of Eppley Airfield is also underway, anticipated to finish in four years, he adds. Additionally, the Mutual of Omaha corporate headquarters project is under construction and, once completed, will become the tallest structure in Nebraska and in five surrounding states.

“We feel that all these projects will spur further development, and there are a lot of pieces already in motion,” Haberman says. Recently completed work includes the Omaha Riverfront revitalization and the First National Tower renovation, “two [projects] that we were very fortunate to have been a part of,” he says.
