Alaska Gasline Development Corp. is planning to construct natural gas pipelines and eight compressor stations, a 3.5-billion-cu-ft-per-day gas processing plant and carbon capture plant on the North Slope, and a 20-million-metric-tons-per-year liquefied natural gas export terminal and combined-cycle power plant in Nikiski. Scope for the estimated $44-billion project includes construction of liquefaction trains; fabrication and erection of LNG storage tanks; purchase of 807 miles of 42-in.-dia pipe; and purchase and installation of power generation and gas dehydration, compression, processing, cooling, filtering, pressure regulating and metering equipment. The pipeline will have a throughput capacity of 3.3 billion cu ft of gas per day. Glenfarne Group has been selected as the project developer. NOVONIX Ltd. is planning to construct a synthetic graphite manufacturing plant on a 182-acre site at the Enterprise South Industrial Park in Chattanooga. Scope for the estimated $1-billion Enterprise South project includes construction of a 400,000-sq-ft building and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of storage vessels and structural steel; purchase and installation of raw material receiving, handling and storage systems, sintering furnaces and blending. The plant will have the capacity to produce 31,500 tons of synthetic graphite material per year for use in electric vehicle batteries. Construction is expected to begin in 2025. Terra CO2 Technology is planning to construct a supplementary cementitious material production facility in Magna. Project scope includes construction of building space and equipment foundations; installation of proprietary low-NOx reactor; and purchase and installation of silos, conveyors, heat exchangers, baghouse and raw material and finished product storage and handling. CCC Construction, a joint venture of Christensen Building Group and Clark Construction, is providing procurement and construction services. A construction schedule is being developed.
