The palms and fingers of the gloves are coated in nitrile rubber latex that has ridges for an improved grip. The 460E Articulated Dump Truck is powered by a John Deere PowerTech 13.5-liter, 481-hp Interim Tier 4 engine. The 46-ton machine is the largest articulated dump truck ever produced by John Deere. The hauler axles have been redesigned for heavy-duty applications and feature on-the-fly differential locks and outboard planetaries. Integrated wet-disc brakes on the axles use independent cooling circuits to monitor the operating temperature. In order to minimize the risk of rollover during unloading, the dump body can be restricted from rising when the rear chassis exceeds a preset angle.
