Product Snapshot: Tier 4 Final Motor Grader and Telescopic Drill Rig

Deere's G-Series Motor Graders are now powered by Deere PowerTech Tier 4 Final engines. The engines are available on all 12 models of the G-Series, with net horsepower ratings ranging from 220 hp to 287 hp. The motor graders' operating weights are unchanged from the Interim Tier 4 versions. The Tier 4 Final engine's diesel-particulate filter features automatic cleaning and can operate for 15,000 hours before any ash removal is necessary.

The RG 19 T telescopic drill rig now features an Eco-Mode, which uses less power for attachments with lower power demands. Engine speed is lowered during Eco-Mode, reducing emissions and noise. The RTG Rammtechnik rig is mounted on a BS 65 RS Bauer-Pileco base carrier and can be used to install heavy-duty sheet piles or steel sections up to 62 ft in length. The rig will be on display at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014.

The Mobile 5 Central Mix concrete batch plant can be customized to meet the needs of the jobsite. The batch plant is available with the 5-cu-yard Tilt Mixer, which features a single pivot point for easier operation. An auxiliary silo is also available for the Mobile 5, so a second cementitious material can be stored. Other options include a high-volume, low-pressure aeration blower for better cement flow, aggregate bin extensions for more storage space, and a polyurethane-lined dump cone with outboard supports to load truck mixers. The Mobile 5 is intended for jobs on which a larger concrete plant cannot fit.

The truck is powered by a Cat C9.3 ACERT engine rated at 314 net hp. The engine is available in Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 Final configurations, depending on the market. It features all-time six-wheel drive and, in the axle, wet-disc clutch locks, which can be activated in the cab when additional traction is required. The two-person cab features improved visibility with a low, sloping hood.
