The Makita XRJ01/Z Recipro Saw is powered by an 18-volt lithium-ion battery that can be fully charged in only 30 minutes. The 3.9-lb reciprocating saw features a two-way power switch that allows for either paddle- or trigger-style operation. Designed for cutting PVC and copper pipe as well as conduit, the saw has a variable speed of up to 3,000 strokes per minute and a half-inch cutting length. A built-in LED illuminates the work area.

The Bosch DD181X Drill-Driver features an active-response system to reduce kickback when the bit binds. An accelerometer shuts off the tool's motor current if it detects sudden movements, thus reducing kickback. Powered by a 18-volt lithium-ion battery, the DD181X weighs 4.75 lb and can deliver 708 lb of torque. The drill-driver has a suggested retail price of $279.
