Product Snapshot: All-Terrain Crane and Angle Grinders

The LM-30-8-5S-4X1000W-EW-SM-RD Telescoping Light Mast has four 1,000-watt metal halide lamps mounted on a five-segment mast to provide 440,000 lumens of illumination. Using an included 3,500-lb electric winch, the mast can be extended to a maximum height of 30 ft and collapsed to a height of 9 ft. The base has eight skid pockets, allowing it to be picked up on all four sides, and four corner eyelets allow for stable deployment with a crane. A cube-style frame provides additional base stability.

DeWalt's DWE402 and DWE402N 41/2-in. Angle Grinders are designed for a range of applications, including grinding and beveling steel, grinding welds, cutting pipe and steel plate, and preparation of concrete surfaces. The angle grinders feature DeWalt's new Dust Ejection System, which does not require power from the motor. This feature results in a longer motor life than earlier models have. The tool weighs only 4.6 lb and has a slim profile, allowing it to be used in tight spaces. A slide-switch model is also available.

The Explorer 5500 Crane has a 196-ft-long main boom, which can be extended to 283 ft using extensions. The five-axle carrier has a width of only 9 ft and steerable axles, allowing for greater maneuverability on tight jobsites. At its full telescoped boom length, the 143-ton crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 27 tons. The crane has a dynamic launch control function, which prevents it from rolling backward during start-up and while maneuvering on steep grades. An automatic counterweight system saves setup time, and all the crane's components can be transported in a single support vehicle.

The Deere 844K-II Wheel Loader is powered by a 377-hp engine that meets Tier 4 emissions standards. Another improvement to the K-Series is higher-capacity Teammate V Axles, with cooling and filtration standard. A front differential lock can be engaged on the fly for better traction on rough terrain. Brake reactors and automatic self-adjustors have been added to reduce brake drag and heat. The 744K-II is Loadrite L2180-ready, able to provide operators with on-board payload data, and the wheel loader is integrated into the JDLink telematics system.
