Product Snapshot: Equipment Manufacturers Show Their Wares at Intermat 2015

Mitas unveiled the latest addition to its ERL-30 line of earthmoving tires, the 29.5R25. The all-steel radial tires are designed for large-wheel loaders such as the Caterpillar 980 and the Liebherr L586. Designed for the off-rough conditions found in mines, quarries and heavy civil infrastructure sites, the tires have a wear-resistant tread pattern and are designed to perform in both hard and soft terrain. The tires can be retreaded as necessary.

The Skyjack SJ86 Telescopic Boom has a working height of 92.5 ft and a horizontal reach of 76.8 ft. The platform has a working capacity of 751 lb when operating within its restricted operating zone and a capacity of 500 lb outside of that envelope. Flashing lights alert the operator to when it is leaving the zone, and will prevent working outside the zone unless the operator manually switches to the lower-capacity settings.

The triennial European equipment trade show Intermat was held April 20-25 in Paris-Nord Villepinte, France. Terex had two of its recent machines on display: its Explorer 5600 All-Terrain Crane and its 182-8 Flat-top Crane. First introduced at CONEXPO 2014, the Explorer 5600 boasts a new capacity-calculating system that grants higher lift capacities when working over outriggers. The 182-8 Flat-top Crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 8.8 tons and features improved lifting capacity at its full 213-ft jib length.

John Deere Power Systems displayed its expanded its line of generator drive engines at Intermat 2015. The Powertech PSL 4.8L, PVL 6.8L, PSL 6.8L and PSL 9.0L all meet Tier 4 Final emission standards without the need for a diesel-particulate filter. The engines use a combination of cooled-exhaust gas recirculation, a diesel oxidation catalyst, and a selective catalytic reduction system to meet emissions standards. All of the engines feature low idle speeds and full electronic controls for easier synchronization when operating generator sets in parallel.
