A 3.2-mile addition to the Phoenix metropolitan area’s Valley Metro Rail system, the Northwest extension was constructed along 19th Avenue from Montebello to Dunlap avenues, a section of roadway with high traffic counts and more than 300 property owners.

Among the theories floated for this year’s lagging response by specialty contractors to ENR’s annual regional surveys is that those contractors have just been too busy working.

Buoyed by a still-strong construction market in New York and New Jersey, the 50 firms ranked on ENR New York’s Top Contractor list this year were able to boost total revenue 6.9% to $2.1 billion based on 2015 figures.
The top 10 firms in the ENR MidAtlantic Top Contractor rankings nearly surpassed pre-recession levels in 2015, raising a combined $10.33 billion, up from $9.9 billion in 2014 and $9 billion in 2013. In 2008, the top 10 contractors collected a total of $10.7 billion.
