An 11-story office tower in Dallas, Texas was set to be brought down in a controlled demolition in Feb. 16, which dropped the outer shell of the building but failed to bring down the structure’s concrete core.
Six months after Terex Peneir SK415 crane collapsed onto a Dallas apartment building, killing one, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined the crane’s owner, Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. citing serious violations.
There were lots of extremes for builders of Dallas’ newest mixed-use tower, 1920 McKinney, as they faced three months of rain, zero-lot lines and strict noise ordinances to meet an accelerated schedule.
