U.S. EPA is set to invest appropriated funds for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects, PFAS treatment efforts and lead service line replacement.
Technology uses the power of water inside pipes to generate a renewable source of energy, with EPA estimates that the country's 50,000 water utilities collectively consume 4% of its energy to convey and treat water.
New report says huge investment must happen in low- and
middle-income countries "just to achieve universal access to clean
drinking water, sanitation and hygiene by 2030."
The funding will support Philadelphia's 25-year water revitalization plan, which calls for lead service line replacement and upgrades to regional water treatment plants.
