Team, known as New York City Football Club, aims to complete construction in time for the 2027 season, with other redevelopment also planned in Willets Point former industrial area.
With concrete foundation work underway and steelwork set to rise in May for the $124-million Tidewater Landing soccer stadium, construction is progressing despite a hold in public funding amid inflationary pressure.
The team hopes construction of the 1.7-million-sq-ft facility could begin as soon as next fall, with completion in time for the start of the 2026 football season.
