The Florida Dept. of Transportation is currently evaluating eight submitted bids for a bridge construction project. The project entails building a new bridge in Jupiter, which will carry U.S. Route 1 over the Loxahatchee River. It will have 35 ft of vertical clearance and 125 ft of horizontal clearance. In addition, 7-ft-wide buffered bicycle lanes and 8-ft-wide sidewalks will be provided on both sides. Construction is expected to start in July 2021 and be completed by July 2025.
