Average construction backlogs rose to eight months in the third quarter, up 3.5% from the previous quarter, and the second consecutive quarter of such growth, according to data compiled by the Washington, D.C.-based Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). U.S. Architecture firms saw improving business conditions for the second consecutive month in September, with billings growing at their fastest rate in two years, according to the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Architectural Billing Index (ABI).
