It's been some time since Midwest builders have had positive news to report, and it finally arrives by way of ENR Midwest's 2012 ranking of the region's Top Contractors, which canvassed the non-residential activity of leading firms in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Indiana and Missouri.

Although the region continues to contend with slowdowns in industrial and public construction, the result of slackening demand and tightening fiscal policy, respectively, earnings among the Top 20 firms last year collectively surpassed those of their counterparts in 2010, and by a substantial sum.

While we won't be disclosing financial results of the Midwest's Top 50 Contractors until they appear in the July 23 edition of ENR Midwest, what follows is a list of the Top 50 in alphabetical order.
