There’s always additional room for the Best in the Midwest!
In addition to the 20 Best Project and Awards of Merit winners in various categories announced earlier this month, ENR Midwest judges are today recognizing two projects for their safety prowess.
Earning the Excellence in Safety Award is Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology's New Health And Wellness Center project in Appleton, Wis. No lost time accidents were recorded during the 145,000 man-hours racked up during construction of the new 70,000-sq-ft cancer and blood disorder health center. This entry was submitted by general contractor Miron Construction Co. Inc., working in partnership on the $14.7-million project with fellow Neenah, Wis.-based McMahon Architects/Engineers.
Earning the Award of Merit for Safety is the Kirk in the Hills project, a $3-million renovation of a Gothic stone architecture Presbyterian Church on one of the most unique grounds in the metropolitan Detroit area. Zero lost time was recorded in 15,171 man-hours on this Bloomfield Hills project, submitted by Detroit-based general contractor Sachse Construction, working with lead design firm Harley Ellis Devereaux of Southfield, Mich.
All of the announced award recipients will be honored at the ENR Midwest Best Projects event Nov. 30 in Chicago. Visit the event page for more information and/or to register.
At the event, we will also crown our overall Project of the Year, as well as honor the firms that were selected throughout the year as the region's Owner, Design Firm, Contractor and Specialty Contractor of the Year. And, oh yes, we will also recognize ENR Midwest Legacy Award recipients.
Don’t miss it!
