ENR Midwest reviewed the revenue numbers reported by nearly 100 regional contractor respondents to the 2018 Top Contractors Survey, researched potential Contractor of the Year nominees and came up with two deserving nominees.

ENR's regional editors from across the land voted on the nominees and Lendlease is ENR Midwest’s 2018 Contractor of the Year. Led by the national company's Chicago office, Lendlease was able to nearly double regional revenue across the region, which includes Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin thanks to a strong slate of commercial projects such as Chicago's $500-million, 52-story, 1-million-sq-ft office tower, River Point.

While a great building year in the Chicago market played a role in helping Lendlease's growth, the fact that the venerable contractor that was founded 1917 developed some of its own projects and entered into some key joint ventures really set it apart. Its strategy to both develop and build positioned Lendlease for success and the company moved up 10 places in ENR Midwest's Top Contractors rankings going from 19th in 2017 to just outside our top ten at number 11 in 2018 with $953 million in regional revenue accounting for work in all 11 states in our coverage area.
