ENR Mid-Atlantic will honor ECS Mid-Atlantic LLC as its Design Firm of the Year.
The Design Firm of the Year demonstrates success in the region from a growth and revenue standpoint as well as innovation, creativity and a commitment to giving back to its community. The last four Mid-Atlantic winners include KCI Technologies Inc., Whitman Requardt and Associates, Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson and Pennoni Associates.
Founded 30 years ago in Chantilly, Va., ECS has since expanded to 60 offices and testing facilities spread across the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Southeast and Southwest. It has 16 offices in the Mid-Atlantic. The employee-owned firm has more than 1,700 employees across all its regions. The firm specializes in geotechnical, environmental, construction materials and facilities engineering. ECS ranked No. 75 in the Top 500 Design Firms this year and was No. 81 last year.
The firm has a new program called Promoting all Women’s Strengths (PAWS) in the Mid-Atlantic to help women leaders grow and share ideas. ECS offices sponsor events and support causes close to where they live and work, including the Avon Walk to End Breast Cancer, the Kindergarten STEM program and the Builders Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting children and families that may need special help.
ECS will be featured in the June 18 issue of ENR Mid-Atlantic along with the top-ranked design firms in the region—which includes Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington D.C. and West Virginia. The results of that survey are based on 2017 revenue. The survey will feature more than 100 participating firms.
