ENR MidAtlantic is excited to announce this year’s group of Regional Best Project winners.

This year’s judges awarded 30 projects from across the region in the main categorie, including 12 Best Project-level awards and 18 Awards of Merit.

While the 2024 winners of the main categories can be found in the list below, the Best Project safety and sustainability award winners, which are juried by a separate group of safety and sustainability experts, will be announced soon in the ENR MidAtlantic free e-newsletter. Finalists for this year’s ENR MidAtlantic Project of the Year will also be announced there soon.

Judges’ selection for this year’s overall Project of the Year from the Best Project-level winners listed below will be announced in the October issue of ENR MidAtlantic and at the ENR MidAtlantic Best Projects awards event in October. For more information about the Regional Best Projects event, please visit https://www.enr.com/enr-best-projects-awards/baltimore

This year’s winning projects in the main categories—listed at the bottom of this post—will also be profiled in depth in the October print issue of ENR MidAtlantic.

Two panels of industry judges reviewed 75 projects located throughout the region, including Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

The judges were divided into two groups and assigned a group of categories. Projects were evaluated on the ability of the project team to overcome challenges, contribution to the industry and community, safety and construction and design quality. Due to the large number of entries, we can only cite a fraction of projects submitted each year, so project that did not win this year can be submitted next year!

Judges could select any combination of Best Project-level and an Award of Merit category winners. In some categories, judges decided not to make an award.

This year's judges are: Philip Brault, regional director, Washington, D.C.; Andrew J. Graham, senior associate, technical director at Leo A. Daly; Brian Neckermann, senior project manager at The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western; Ben Nichols, president & CEO at Harkins Builders; Rod Jones, project manager, operations at Holder Construction; and Sara A. Sadek, director of corporate quality assurance and quality control at PJ Dick.
