The format for selecting the 2025 Top Young Professionals in ENR regions will change next year, with a regional consolidation now being announced.

As the construction industry continues to evolve, the audience for ENR Regional Editions has also shifted, with firms often working in broader geographic footprints across the U.S. With that in mind, Regional Edition newsletters and website content are evolving to fit, as follows:

New York, New England and MidAtlantic regions will merge to form ENR East.

Texas/Louisiana and Southeast region editions will become one: ENR Texas and Southeast.

ENR Midwest region will remain, but with North and South Dakota added.

ENR Mountain States edition will include the states of Arizona and New Mexico from ENR Southwest.

California and Northwest editions will merge to form ENR West region, also adding Nevada, which was in the Southwest region.

Much will remain the same, with each newly re-formed region continuing to publish six bi-monthly print and digital magazines, a twice monthly newsletter and regional-specific digital content posted daily to the new regional websites on ENR.com.

In addition, ENR’s successful Best Projects competition/events and top firm rankings will continue to provide the same level of opportunity to showcase outstanding company work.

So the following Top Young Professionals make up the first group recognized for the new ENR East Region—now covering Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, the District of Columbia, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

It was a crowded field, with judges evaluating 130 entries to choose the Top 20 professionals in the region under the age of 40. Judges did not score applications from individuals working at the same firm or any with which they had a conflict of interest.

Each awardee will be featured in the first edition of ENR East on Feb. 3, 2025, detailing his or her successes and careers so far.

This year’s judges were: Stuart Meurer, president and CEO of Windover Construction Inc.; Lili Liang, deputy director of Maryland Dept. of Transportation State Highway Administration; Amar Maniar, STV principal and senior engineering operations manager; André Barbour, NEI General Contracting diversity and inclusion director; and Ioanna Magiati, partner of architect AO.
